The passage of the asteroid 2005 YU55 in the vicinity of the Earth on alert observatories around the world. The object, about 400 meters in diameter, about the size of an aircraft carrier, has gone 324,600 miles from Earth, a distance slightly less than that of the Moon (about 380,000 kilometers).
